5 Steps to Distress After Long Day
Follow these wonderful tips to destress yourself after a tiring day.
Step 1: Drink Water
Yes, start your destressing session with drinking a glass of water. You can choose any type of water. I am not asking you to drink cold water in a chilly winter or warm water after a sunny day out.
Just drink any water, yeah, but avoid too hot or too cold water. As this can make your body hormones levels more stressful.
You can also try to add some sweetener and lemon to your water. This will help to detox your body. Here is a quick recipe you may like to consider when planning to make detox water.
- Take cold water
- Add two teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
- Add 2g of fresh mint leaves
- Add sugar as per taste
- Add a pinch of salt or pink Himalayan salt
- Don’t forget to add ice and serve it chill
Quick tip: Avoid consuming caffeine-based drinks. You can consume tea or coffee after 30 mins after drinking water. Consuming caffeine during an empty stomach can increase the level of toxins in your body.

My personal favorite is Date, Watermelon, and Banana. They are a perfect go to snack. It does not require any preparation. All you need is a trip to your fridge to grab a pack of some grapes.
Step 3: Take a Jog
Working out after a long day can be tough. You must be wondering, why did I include workout tips in my list of distress after a long day?
This is because exercising will make you feel great. Pumping up your heart produces endorphins level in the body. This will make you feel happy.
You’ll also get better sleep and stay motivated.
A quick tip: Avoid doing the high-intensity workout because that can lead to injury. Try some yoga, running, walking, or resistance training.
It is advisable to consult your personal fitness trainer to understand which exercise works best for you.
Step 4: Don’t Miss The Shower
You have plenty of fluids, little snacks, workout…… Now it’s time to get refreshed. Take a long warm shower. And if you are lucky, unlike me, you can enjoy a hot bathtub session at home.
Run into the shower for at least 20 minutes. This will help your body to open pores. You can also add salt to your water.
This also helps sore muscles after a long stressful day to relax.
Step 5: Time to Nap
Finally, we are here.
I know you wanted to jump to step 5. But not so easy.
Although it’s time to nap, you need to set some restrictions. Avoid phones, laptops, and relax your way out to destress.
Just listen to music or read a book to calm your mind.
You can also try to MEDITATE. Meditation is a good way to make your mind relax.
